Cassie
WHO ARE YOU? NAME: Cassiopeia Graycin Williams BIRTHDAY/AGE: September 16th, 1993/18 GENDER: Female SEXUALITY: Heterosexual OCCUPATION: Waitress, Student, Singer FACE CLAIM: Adriana Lima
WHAT YOU ARE SPECIES: Witch, Druid ALLIANCE: Good ABILITY: Besides the basic spell casting abilities and low-level elemental abilities some witches, and some druids have, Cassie's powers seemed to have manifested in the forms of telekinesis and The Sight. ABILITY DESCRIPTION: Among the druids the gifts of Sight and telekinesis were gifts to be utilized and trained. These were the ways of Old. For years on end Cassie studied with her grandmother, her mother and father having denounced the Teachings.
Her telekinetic abilities allow her to lift and move objects with only her mind. This is not the extent of her abilities though. With her telekinesis she can form invisible shield-like fields of pressurized air atoms that she brings close together and weaves into shapes. On top of that she can deflect bullets and other far-ranged attacks with a simple wave. Her abilities though drain her and the longer they are in user the harder it becomes to focus. First she gets a slight ringing in her ears. Then there's the dizziness, followed by blurred vision. Hypothetically if she lifts to much at once she could kill herself though she's only gotten as far as blacking out. After awakening her powers will inhibit further use until she eats and restores her energy reserves with meditation and rest.
Not much is known about her Sight. Her grandmother was only able to teach her to use it in the form of Clairvoyance. Or at least a type of clairvoyance. Her ability allows her too see past the normal line of vision. She can cast her senses of sight and hearing about a hundred feet from her actual persons before it becomes fuzzy. By a hundred and fifty all she can see are blurred shapes and by two hundred everything becomes colored blobs.
She and her grandmother know there's more to the Sight than what her grandma was able to teach because Cassie's received random glimpses of the past. She can't control how far back she sees or even when it happens but she knows that the farther back she is showed the worse the toll.
YOUR SUCCESS LIKES: Art Adele Singing Playing her piano Boys DISLIKES: Jerky Guys Stuck-up Girls When people sing off key Untuned Instruments Druggies STRENGTHS: Her voice - her vocal range spans five octaves.
Her powers - her version of insurance.
Her brain - though its not often shown, her mind is a strong element in her being and her intelligence is above average. WEAKNESSES: Public Performances
Her magic-addicted sister - though she sells and uses her magic to get a sort of drug-less high, her sister has always had a strange sort of hold over. She is a master manipulator when it comes to Cassie
Her fear of drowning causes her to avoid large bodies of water at any cost. FEARS: After her grandma recently slipped and almost died in the bathtub, Cassie formed an aversion to water. She'll drink she'll even stand in a kiddy pool but anything higher than her knee and Cassie will become terrified.
Cassie also as a fear of needles. Though common Cassie is embarrassed off her fear. GOALS: Cassie wants to become a world-pop sensation. At first her mother and father did not encourage her gifts because they were unable to see her talents but after being told enough times that she had skills, her parents finally began to believe in their daughter.
She also wants to have kids someday two girls and one boy. Erica, Jessica and Mark.
TELL ME YOUR PAST MOTHER: Artemisa June Williams FATHER: Kennedy Marc Williams SIBLINGS: Stephanie Melissa Williams OTHER: Alasia Rose (Grandmother), Chapman Mello (Gay, Best-Friend) PLACE OF BIRTH: Boise, Idaho CURRENT RESIDENCE: HISTORY: Born in the capital of Idaho Cassie was a child born with powerful magic in her bones. The Druids of the Celtic Religion of Old were powerful, magically and otherwise. Their affect on legend, myth and society. Their gods and goddesses would often touch certain families, giving the offspring gifts that other Druids would not. Of course in some, actually most, cases only certain individuals would be gifted.
Rose's family was smiled upon by Morrigan. Though usually seen as a bad thing, in the right hands the favor of Morrigan, the goddess associated with war and death on a battlefield, could be a good thing seeing as she was also the patroness of Priestess and witches. Cassie's father was smiled upon by Ceridwen, the goddess of magic, the moon and music.
Fast forward some thousands of years later and you have Rose and Robin married, both 27 and parents to their newborn, Kennedy. She was gifted and strong with the magics though she had no discernible Gifts until she was five, two years after the birth of Cassiopeia. Once Cassie was born, Kennedy began to act out. She became moody, rude and angry. her parents just saw this as a phase, a late-set case of the terrible two's, something Kennedy never went through before.
Sadly, this was not true. By thirteen she began to use her Gift of Empathy against others. her first attempt was on a bird. She made it experience the pain of being shot then sent it off only to repeat her actions while it was mid-flight, disrupting its flight pattern and sending it back to earth. It died when it hit the balcony of Cassie's bedroom.
Cassie was beginning to practice, her gifts having been with her since the time she was born. Her mother and father had decided it was the right time after a fight between Kennedy and Cassie ended up in a broken window. They couldn't use their powers directly upon each other, seeing as they were family, but they could still use their natural magics against each other.
The night after the fight Kennedy didn't show up for dinner, nor for their nightly ritual of prayer to their Goddesses. It wasn't until morning that they got the call. Kennedy had been in some empathically induced haze and had attempted to walk home from a friends house. She was hit by a car. Thankfully no permanent damage was done. Her right arm broke cleanly and her concussion was mild seeing as all witches healed slightly faster than humans.
From then on though magic was forbidden except in the most dire situations and they renounced the Old Religion. At first Cassie though this would anger the gods but she remembered something that was apart of the promises made to all Druids. The gods promised them two things. That even in the worst of times the magic and the Gifts that they give to the few Druids, would never be taken away. Secondly they promised the Druids free-will. Kennedy ran away from home a week after this rule was set and only visited when she needed something. Cassie of course was angry and argued that hit wasn't her mistakes that she was being punished for but for her sister's.
Cassie knew she couldn't change her parents minds but she knew someone who could. She called grandma Alasia up and told her about her parents. Her parents and her grandmother argued for hours before they got of the phone. They gave Cassie two choices: a)stay and never use her magic again or b)go to live with grandma. She couldn't come back to live with them. This of course wasn't said but was implied.
Taking the hard road she left and finished up her lessons with her grandmother after five years of study (making her eighteen). She'd now a student at the community college and is aspiring to become a singer, be famous but most importantly find love.
BEHIND THAT MASK NAME/ALIAS: what you would like us to call you RP EXPERIENCE: 4 - 5 months FROM THE RULES: Yes OTHER CHARACTERS: None RP EXAMPLE:Cassie sighed, playing with her hair as she sat in Advanced Powers placement. It was boring listening to one of the teachers talking on and on to their college-level students, droning on and on about control and execution. Cassie was apart of the NM team, meaning she had to have good control over her powers already. Why the hell did she have to sit through this class? Dear God, someone save me please.. Just as she thought this the bell rang and the room was filled with the sounds of chairs being pushed back and the rustling of paper as notebooks were closed and put into backpacks. Cassie grabbed her phone from her bag, and walked from the classroom, turning a few heads as she went.
Checking her phone, she'd smile when she saw the text from one of her dearest friends. A fellow empath he was attuned to music rather than to living things like Cassie was. The kid was pretty cool and they'd met at a club, the club that he asked her to pick him up from. She'd been dancing at the Yellow Brick Rhode and people were surprised. The ballerina could dance like the rest of them. And she was good too. They'd been friends ever since, Cassie and Mark hanging out so often that, for awhile, people began to think they were together. They weren't but kids will be kids and kids like too mess with each other. As she was right now Cassie was unable to get Mark immediately, her keys, purse, wallet and everything else being upstairs. Texting him back she would respond with, 'Of course. I'll be there in twenty.' It normally would have taken ten to get there but it took five minutes just to get to her car in the garage. Then like three to get her stuff and then twelve to get their.
Smiling to a few friends as she walked by, she'd take the stairs quickly and get to her room in no time, grabbing her favorite pair of black velvet, peep-toed heels and her studded Givenchy. She had money and nice stuff due to her family business but nothing meant more to her than the bracelet her dad had bought the week before she was born, planning to give it to her the day she graduated from high-school. Her mother had given it to her when she graduated from Xavier's and Cassie wore every wear she went. It was large and gold, with glass and pyrite and delicate interweaving designs. She also worked part-time as a model when she was seventeen and eighteen but once she began to work security and take college classes at the Institute she rarely had time. Modeling was her summer-time job. Grabbing her keys and wallet from her bedside table she'd throw them into her bag, walking down the hall with her heels in hand, her bare feet descending the stairs quickly and as she got to the last step she put her left foot behind her and slipped the heel on and then did the same with the right, holding onto the wooden large sphere on the polished handrails of the stairs.
Once she had those, she let her bag hang from the nook in between her upper and lower-arm, the handles hanging on the inside of her right elbow. Holding her keys in her left hand she'd find her car faster than she expected, the 2011 Mercedes ml63, sitting near the mouth of the garage. Unlocking it, the nineteen-year-old would rev the engine a couple times, before pulling out off the school and heading down street. Turning right she'd drive for the next twelve minutes at exactly 53mph, the streets being oddly devoid of traffic. Her bracelet was snug on her wrist as she drove and with every slight turn or adjustment it sparkled.
Cassie was quite the sight today, dressed in a midriff, blue shrug top which proudly exposed her stomach, a pair of low-rise, black skinnies and of course her heels and bracelet. Her sunbeam glasses were in her bag but unnecessary on a day like this, where it was warm but the sun was bright. Entering the club she'd lock her car and throw her keys into her bag. As her eyes adjusted to the lighting she called out to Mark, unable to see him. "Mark? Where are you?"
