HISTORY: June and Robert Fillist got married once they had their first child, Nikki Fillist. They were both "witches" or "wiccas". They loved magic and one another. They loved Nikki and always gave her what she wanted. She was their pride. They were hoping she would pick up magic. She did, and she was marvelous at it. June and Robert were delighted with their daughters' ability. They gave her even more. From being so confident about being parents and their offsspring, they decided to have another child. This was were Nathan Fillist came in. He was born into the world on December 31st. He was a lovely child. He grew up in his bigger sisters' shadow though.
Nathan was a good little boy, did whatever he was told. His parents loved him, but they loved him because they felt they needed to. They still favored Nikki over Nathan. This was because once Nathan was 9 he finally started to magic. When he did, he was very bad at it, but this was because he was a slow learner. His parents didn't know this and didn't care, they started to push Nate harder and harder, trying to make him do simple tricks, but he couldn't. He couldn't work under pressure. Instead, at night, Nate worked in his room, trying spells, and he was very good at it, better at it than his sister. He didn't show or tell anyone though. He didn't want his parents to love him for his magical abilities, but for his music, for Nate had started to play guitar. He found more joy in it than magic, even though he still practiced it.
Once his parents heard his music they were furious, for they told him to levitate the table, not play his guitar. They grabbed the guitar, that he found on the street, and smashed it. This was the moment that Nathan hated his parents. They stole away his freedom. They wanted them to go away. But he couldn't run from them, so he stayed. he decided he would just have to deal with them. Well, June and Robert were almost about to give up on Nate, thinking that all the magic went to Nikki, when they decided to move to Meadow Heights. They knew there were many creatures and other wiccas there. They hoped it would make Nate more interested and willing to use magic.
So, Nathan was forced from his home in sunny California and moved to Masschuetts. He was now 14 and still hadn't told anyone about his magical abilities. It wasn't like they would listen anyways. They were always constantly fawning over Nikki. He liked this though, for then he had time to practice his magic and music, even though he still needed a new guitar.
No one seemed to bother him once they arrived in their new home. They actually let him do what he wanted, and bought him a new guitar. He parents were using a different approach now. Almost bribe him into using magic. Pamper him enough that if you ask him, he would do as he was told. Nathan played along, even though he knew what was really going on. Hell, he was just happy he could play music again.
Nathan never had a strong spot for making friends. He just usually locked himself in his room, afterschool, and read a book, or, of course practiced. Even though he is 22, his parents still force him to use magic. They still haven't given up. They can almost sense he was some strong magic inside him, which he does. He wishes his parents could move away and leave him be in his little house. Of course, they won't.
Nathan usually can be found at the community college or at a book store. Someplace where he can get some peace and quiet. He rarely goes home because mostly every second of the day his parents are banging down his door. He hopes he can score a couple of gigs sometime. Even though he is a little emabarassed about playing in public. He doesn't liked to be judged on how well he plays.
